Introduction

Welcome to the Privacy Policy for the Iqamah Times - Masjid Display app, developed by APPNEST. This app lets a masjid display its Adhan and Iqamah times, Jummah schedule, and announcements on a TV or tablet. This policy explains how the app handles data when you use it.

Data We Collect

We are committed to minimal data handling. Iqamah Times does not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or any account information. The app does not require an account or sign-in, and it contains no advertising.

Stored only on your device:

  • Your display settings - Iqamah times, Jummah times, announcement text, chosen coordinates, calculation method, theme, and text size are saved in the app's local storage on your device and are the app's working data.

Anonymous device report (sent to APPNEST servers):

To understand how many masjids use the app, fix device-specific issues, and manage app updates, the app sends a basic technical report to our server when it starts:

  • Device model, manufacturer, and Android version
  • App version, device language, timezone, and network type (Wi-Fi / cellular)
  • The masjid name and location name you typed in the app's settings (as display text - GPS coordinates are not sent)
  • An anonymous device identifier (Android ID) - used only to avoid counting the same device twice
  • Your IP address is processed by our server to estimate an approximate location (country and city) and network provider

This report contains no personal identity information, is never sold or shared with third parties, and is used only for app statistics, support, and update management.

Purchases (Optional Supporter Pack)

Iqamah Times offers an optional one-time Supporter purchase that unlocks premium display themes. All payments are processed entirely by Google Play Billing:

  • We never see or store your card number, bank details, or billing address - Google handles the payment.
  • The app only receives confirmation from Google Play that a purchase was made, to unlock the themes.
  • Purchases follow Google Play's refund policies. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google processes payment data.

App Updates

On launch, the app checks our server for the minimum supported version. If your installed version is too old, the app may ask you to update via Google Play before continuing. This check sends no personal data.

Location (Optional)

Location is completely optional and is used only to calculate accurate prayer (Adhan) times.

  • If you tap "Use My Location (GPS)", the app reads your device location (with your permission) and uses it to compute prayer times and look up a readable place name.
  • Your GPS coordinates are not transmitted to or stored on APPNEST servers - prayer times are calculated on your device. Only the readable masjid/location name you save in settings is included in the anonymous device report described above.
  • Location services and geocoding may be provided by Android, Google Play services, or your device's system location provider, depending on your device.
  • You can skip GPS entirely and enter your city or coordinates manually - the app works fully without location access.
  • You can revoke location permission at any time from your device settings.

Permissions

  • Location (optional): only used to calculate prayer times when you choose "Use My Location".
  • Internet / Network state: used for location name lookup, the anonymous device report, the app-update check, Google Play purchases, and opening external links such as the Play Store or this privacy page.

Children's Privacy

Iqamah Times is suitable for all ages, contains no objectionable content, and does not knowingly collect any data from children or any other users.

Data Deletion

On your device: all app settings can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app. Uninstalling also stops all device reports.

On our servers: if you would like the anonymous device report associated with your device removed, email us at [email protected] (mention your device model and the masjid name set in the app) and we will delete it.

Depending on your Android device settings, locally stored app data may be included in Android backup or device transfer features controlled by your device or Google account settings.
