No Account, No Ads

No sign-in, no advertising networks, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking of how you use the app.

Local First

All your settings — location, calculation method, adhan preferences, themes — are stored only on your device.

GPS Optional

Use GPS or type your coordinates manually. Either way, your coordinates never leave your device.

Introduction

APPNEST ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Prayer Times mobile application. The app provides prayer times, adhan reminders, Qibla direction, Quran reading and audio, Hijri calendar, and related Islamic tools. This page explains exactly what data the app handles — nothing more, nothing less.

What Stays on Your Device

Everything you configure in the app is saved only in the app's local storage on your device:

  • Your location name and coordinates (from GPS or entered manually)
  • Calculation method and madhab selection
  • Adhan notification preferences and sounds
  • App theme and appearance settings

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or any account information. The app has no sign-in, no ads, and no third-party analytics SDKs.

Location (Optional)

Location is used only to calculate prayer times, Qibla direction, and your location's time zone — all computed on your device.

  • You can use GPS (with your permission) or enter your city and coordinates manually in Settings — the app works fully without location permission.
  • Your GPS coordinates are never transmitted to or stored on APPNEST servers.
  • You can revoke location permission at any time from your device settings.

Anonymous Device Report

To count installations, fix device-specific issues, and manage app updates, the app sends a basic technical report to our server when it starts:

  • Device model, manufacturer, and Android version
  • App version, device language, time zone, and network type (Wi-Fi / cellular)
  • An anonymous device identifier — used only to avoid counting the same device twice
  • An approximate location (country and city) and network provider, estimated from your IP address — not from GPS

This report contains no personal identity information and is never sold or shared with anyone.

Online Content (Quran)

Quran text and recitation audio are fetched from the public Al Quran Cloud service (alquran.cloud) when you use the Quran reader or player. This is a standard web request — like opening a website — and no personal data or app settings are attached to it. Prayer times, adhan alerts, and all other core features work fully offline.

Purchases (Optional Supporter Pack)

The app offers an optional one-time Supporter purchase that unlocks premium app themes. All payments are processed entirely by Google Play Billing — we never see or store your card number, bank details, or billing address. The app only receives confirmation from Google Play that a purchase was made, in order to unlock the themes. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google processes payment data.

App Updates

On launch, the app checks our server for the minimum supported version. If your installed version is too old, the app may ask you to update via Google Play before continuing. This check sends no personal data.

App Permissions

📍 Location (Optional)

Used only when you choose GPS detection. You can skip it entirely and enter coordinates manually.

🔔 Notifications & Alarms

Used to play adhan reminders exactly at prayer times. Alarms are scheduled locally on your device.

🌐 Internet

Used for the anonymous device report, the update check, Quran text/audio, and Google Play purchases.

Children's Privacy

Prayer Times is suitable for all ages, contains no objectionable content, and does not knowingly collect any data from children or any other users.

Data Deletion

On your device: all app settings can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app. Uninstalling also stops all device reports.

On our servers: if you would like the anonymous device report associated with your device removed, email us at [email protected] (mention your device model) and we will delete it.
