Introduction

Welcome to the Privacy Policy for the APPNEST TV app, developed by APPNEST. APPNEST TV is a simple live-TV player: it shows a list of channels and plays them. This policy explains exactly what the app accesses and how your data is handled.

Our approach is simple: APPNEST TV has no user accounts and no sign-in. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not track your identity. The only information sent to us is anonymous device and usage analytics, described below.

Channels & Playback

When you open APPNEST TV, the app requests a channel list from our servers and, when you tap a channel, connects to that channel’s video stream to play it. Which channels are shown is controlled entirely from our side; the app itself hardcodes no content.

  • What we do: Serve the channel catalogue and hand the player the stream address for the channel you selected.
  • What we don’t do: We do not link the specific channels you watch to your identity, and we do not build a personal viewing history on our servers.

Favorites & Settings

Your favorite channels and app preferences (such as video quality and the “keep screen on” option) are saved locally on your device only. They are never uploaded to us or shared. Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app removes them.

Recordings

If you use the recording feature, the recording is captured and saved directly to your own device(your gallery, under an “APPNEST TV” folder). Recordings are stored on your phone and are never uploaded to APPNEST or any third party. You can delete a recording at any time from your gallery.

Notifications & Background Playback

APPNEST TV can keep a channel playing when the app is in the background, and can record in the background. To do this it runs a foreground service and shows a notification (for example media controls, or the recording timer). These notifications are generated on your device and contain no personal data.

Analytics & Device Information

To understand where the app is used and which versions are active, APPNEST TV sends a small amount of anonymous device information to APPNEST once on launch. This helps us fix problems, prioritise updates, and improve the app. It contains no name, no contacts, and no account data.

  • Device details: Device model, manufacturer, Android version, app version, language, and timezone.
  • Connection & location: Network/carrier type and an approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address. We do not use GPS or precise location.
  • Install info: A random device identifier so repeat reports from the same device are not double-counted.

This analytics data is used only in aggregate for app insights and is never sold or used to personally identify you.

Permissions We Use

  • Internet & network state: To load the channel list and play video.
  • Foreground service & notifications: For background playback and recording, with an on-screen notification.
  • Wake lock: To keep a recording running reliably while the screen is off.

APPNEST TV does not request your contacts, camera, microphone, or precise (GPS) location.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your data. The only third-party service we rely on for our own analytics is an IP geolocation provider, used solely to convert your IP address into an approximate country and city. Video streams are delivered by the respective channels’ own broadcasters and content networks; when you play a channel, your device connects to that stream provider to receive the video.

Data Deletion

You are always in control. Your favorites, settings and recordings live on your device — clearing the app’s data or uninstalling APPNEST TV removes them, and recordings can be deleted from your gallery.

The only data on our servers is the anonymous device analytics record. You may request deletion of that record at any time by emailing [email protected] with your device model and approximate install date so we can identify it.

Children’s Privacy

APPNEST TV is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The only data transmitted is the anonymous device analytics described above, which does not identify any individual user, including minors.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
